Funding & Independence
Last updated: October 13, 2026
SmokeFree.SG is an independent public-health initiative.
Our credibility depends on independence, transparency, and freedom from tobacco, vaping, or improper political influence.
Funding principles
SmokeFree.SG does not accept:
- tobacco-industry funding,
- vaping-industry funding,
- funding from sellers or promoters of tobacco or vaping products,
- anonymous large donations,
- foreign political funding,
- funding that gives improper influence over campaign content,
- funding that gives access to supporter records,
- funding that creates a conflict of interest.
No sponsor control
Sponsors, partners, vendors, contributors, or supporters do not control:
- campaign policy positions,
- supporter data,
- privacy decisions,
- public statements,
- research conclusions,
- legal wording,
- submissions to MPs or public bodies.
No access to supporter data
No sponsor, advertiser, donor, partner, or collaborator may access individual supporter records unless required by law or expressly consented to by the supporter for a clearly stated purpose.
Transparency
Where appropriate, SmokeFree.SG may publish:
- sponsor or donor names,
- support type,
- amount or value range,
- purpose of support,
- conflict-of-interest declarations.
SmokeFree.SG may refuse, return, or reject any funding or support that could damage public trust.
Public-sector and MP engagement
Any discussion with MPs, Town Councils, public agencies, schools, healthcare institutions, or community organisations does not imply endorsement unless confirmed in writing.
SmokeFree.SG will not falsely claim government, MP, Town Council, school, or institutional support.
Commercial independence
SmokeFree.SG does not sell supporter data, rent mailing lists, run tobacco advertising, or allow sponsors to influence supporter communications.

Advertising and visitor privacy — 13 October 2026
Current status: Google AdSense advertising is disabled. Preparing this site for review does not mean Google has approved it. Google Analytics tracking has also been disabled as part of this update; it is not required for AdSense. Earlier visits may have created analytics cookies, which you can manage through your browser. Essential session, form-security and Cloudflare Turnstile functions remain separate.
If advertising is enabled in a future reviewed release, Google and other authorised third-party advertising vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to serve and measure ads. Google advertising cookies can enable Google and its partners to select ads using visits to this and other sites; personalised advertising depends on consent and applicable rules. See how Google uses data, Google Ads Settings and industry opt-out choices. Browser cookie controls are separate from withdrawal of campaign support.
Before that release, we must publish the actual vendor and consent arrangements, complete a legal/data-protection review, and configure a Google-certified TCF consent platform where required, including for personalised ads to EEA, UK and Switzerland visitors. No certified CMP is configured in this release, so no ads are served anywhere. We do not treat continued browsing or a campaign consent checkbox as advertising consent. Future consent controls must support refusal and withdrawal; we will not substitute a homemade banner for a certified CMP.
The homepage, signing, email verification, withdrawal, newsletter, contact, partnership, legal, account and youth-specific journeys remain ad-free. Future manual ads may be considered only on individually reviewed editorial articles, never using supporter names, email addresses, birth information, identifiers, tokens or campaign participation to target ads. Advertisers do not receive access to private supporter records.
We do not accept tobacco- or vaping-industry sponsorship. Any future programmatic ad is a platform placement, not campaign endorsement or sponsorship of our policy. Before activation, we will use available category and advertiser controls to exclude incompatible advertising and provide a way to report problematic ads; those controls cannot guarantee the content of every creative. Do not click an ad to support the campaign or to submit a signature.
